We approach God

Gathering Song Hymn 782: ‘Lord of life we come to you’
[T: Erisky Love Lilt]

Call to Worship: (Based on 1 Corinthians 1 :2 & 3 and Psalm 30 : 4) )
God is with you
God is also with you
To the Church of God called to be saints
together with all those who in every place
call on the name of Christ Jesus, both their
Lord and ours;
grace to you from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ
Let us his Saints sing praises to God
and call on his holy name

Let us worship God

Hymn 702: ‘Lord, in love and prefect wisdom’ [T: Blaenwern]

Offering Hymn 339: ‘Sing of Andrew, John’s disciple’ [T : Nettleton]

Act of Dedication : (we remain standing and say together)

As Andrew was the first to recognize and follow Christ
and remained a follower all his life, by your Spirit ,
help us O God to remain loyal as followers of Christ today.
As Andrew led his brother Peter to Christ, and many others after him, may we too lead others to Christ solely out of love and by love.
So help us to follow with joy and with hope
and to serve the purposes of your love with dedication and faith, through Christ Jesus.
Amen.
(the Congregation sits)

Prayers of Thanksgiving and concern:
(during the prayer Common Ground 94: ‘O lord, hear my prayer’
will be sung at several points, led by the organ)

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name
Your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth, as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us the wrong we have done,
as we forgive those who have wronged us.
Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.
For yours are the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
now and forever. Amen

We go to serve God with God’s blessing

Hymn 748: ‘Through saints we glimpse the light of Christ’
[T : Wareham]

Dismissal and Blessing:
Go out into the world as living signs of hope,
to love, serve and worship as Christ’s saints today.
And the blessing of God, Father, Son and Spirit
go with you and remain with you always.
Amen, Amen, Alleluia Amen, Amen, Amen, Alleluia Amen.
