 Washing carrots every day

Mahmmad Naim from Afghanistan is 6 years old. Every day he washes carrots in a dirty river in Kabul (the capitol ofAfghanistan)  Children can earn one or two carrots a day as a salary for washing vegetables for farmers. 

In July 2002 6,000 people were sent to hospital as Kabul experienced an outbreak of diarrhoea-related illness and cholera, a disease which is carried in water.
