This year's Summer Club theme is "The
Year of the Child". We are going to look at the life
styles and religions of children from four different countries as well
as looking at our own hopes and fears for the future. We will find out
more about China, India, Afghanistan and Israel through crafts, music,
games and stories. The Summer Club starts each morning (9.15am) with a warm up of fun songs and games. After finding out about one of the countries, the children divide into age groups and take part in games, crafts and other activities. Each day, one group will visit Satrosphere on a coach and find out more about themselves. A themed snack and juice is provided part way through the morning. At the end of the morning we all meet together for a fun (sometimes wet) game, and to find out what we have discovered. After a final prayer, the children are collected by their parents at 12.15pm. On Saturday we have a rehearsal for the following day's church service, then a slightly bigger snack and some fun games. We lead the morning service on Sunday 11th August and show the congregation what we have been doing throughout the week. It is a fun week for everyone, children and helpers. If you wish to take part in all the fun, bring an adult on Monday morning to sign the registration form, then send them home and enjoy yourself! It costs £1 a day (which covers the cost of snack and the trip to Satrosphere). To save bringing money everyday you can pay £5 for the whole week. Looking forward to seeing you!
